Be a PARK HERO

Individuals, children, families, and other groups use and enjoy Clark County parks everyday.  You can help clean and maintain those parks by getting involved as a Park Hero.  By becoming a Park Hero you play your part in caring for your community.

Duties & Responsibilities:

You will help to maintain and care for parks in Clark County parks by cleaning signs and play equipment, removing debris (including litter), spreading and raking playground chips, weeding, and raking leaves.  As part of your Park Hero activities you will keep a look out for and report to maintenance staff any hazards, damage, or vandalism.

 

You will also need to track and regularly submit your volunteer hours to the Volunteer Program Coordinator. 

 

Qualifications:

Location: All parks, trails and open spaces


Time Commitment
: Flexible date and time that works best for the volunteers. Typically 2-4 hour shifts.  Park Heroes are encouraged to work together to form organized work parties

Experience required
: None required

Minimum age: Any age welcome, age 13 and under with a guardian. If you are under the age of 18 you will need to fill out a Minor Consent Form which can be obtained through the Volunteer Program Coordinator or on-line.


Application required: Yes, unless volunteering at a pre-planned group event


Background check required: Yes, unless volunteering at a pre-planned group event

Benefits:
This is great opportunity to get outside, reconnect with nature, and enhance our parks and trails. Participating in general park maintenance as part of a group is also a great way to socialize while improving the community.
