TRAIL RANGER

Thousands of people use and enjoy trails each year in Clark County.  Trail Rangers are needed to ensure that trails are kept in the best possible condition so that citizen can continue to take pleasure in all of the benefits that trails offer. 

Duties & Responsibilities:

You will help to maintain the trails in Clark County parks by removing debris (including litter), raking surfaces, filling holes, keeping paths clear of vegetation through pruning and weeding, and helping to maintain and repair trail surfaces.  As part of your Trail Ranger activities you will keep a look out for and report to maintenance staff any hazards, damage, or vandalism.

 

You will also need to track and regularly submit your volunteer hours to the Volunteer Program Coordinator. 

 

Qualifications:

Location: All trails


Time Commitment
: Flexible date and time that works best for the volunteers. Typically 2-4 hour shifts.
Trail Rangers are encouraged to work together to form organized work parties.


Experience required: None required

Minimum age: Any age welcome, age 13 and under with a guardian. If you are under the age of 18 you will need to fill out a Minor Consent Form which can be obtained through the Volunteer Program Coordinator or on-line.


Application required: Yes, unless volunteering at a pre-planned group event


Background check required: Yes, unless volunteering at a pre-planned group event
